In the Patriotic War, almost all of Europe fought the Soviet Union. Why have we begun to forget that? Indifference, disrespect for memory, emotions “burn” historical facts.
These terrible figures were told to children in his talk by Guards Colonel Georgy Atamanov, chairman of the Council of Veterans of the Central District of Minsk:
During the war 209 towns and district centers, more than 9 thousand villages and hamlets were destroyed on the territory of Belarus, every third inhabitant of our republic perished.
In 1945, our ancestors broke the back of fascism. Liberated Europe from the brown plague. But today, the grandchildren of fascist scoundrels are tearing down monuments to the liberators all over Europe. What is this, European values?! Most likely a double standard. How many times do we have to negotiate with them! It took a long time to reach an agreement with our brothers in Ukraine. So what? And so the bullets flew towards each other. Remember at what cost the world was won. We need historical memory. Without it, there is no future.
